An Update on My January Reading
I am thrilled to say that I completed all three books this month. Yay!
As for my Bible study, you may recall I wasn’t sure which one I was going to follow this year. Then my entire Church decided to do a Bible in a year plan so this is what I am doing. One of my sweet friends from Church even made a Facebook page for it and everyday she updates with the passages to read. She also posts anything in the reading that really speaks to her and we all have the option to post are thoughts and comments. I am really enjoying doing it.
I had tried reading the bible in 90 days 2 years ago and I just couldn’t do it. I tried really hard but it was too much for this non-reader to handle. Anyway, I am thinking having a whole year is much more feasible for me. So far I am keeping on track with no problems.
Now a little more about my January books
- Unbelievable Yet True - This is the story of Theresa D’Souza Greenhough, an Indian Missionary who has devoted her life to going anywhere God sends her. She visited our Church back in October and sadly my husband, Jonah and myself were all sick so we missed it. After reading her story I so wish I could have been there but am thankful I was able to get a hold of her book.
- The Last Christian Generation - This was a very interesting book that discusses the disconnect between adults and youth these days. It explains how this younger generation does not see things at all like we do. Now of course this is not every youth or young adult person just a majority. If you work with youth or young adults in Church and are having a hard time connecting with them this would definitely be a good tool.
- Lead Like Jesus – This was the final book in our Leadership class we took at Church and while it was full of so much useful information I struggled with it. The chapters were very long and unlike some of the books in class that we had 2 and 3 weeks to read, we only had 1 to read this book. I think if I even could have done it in 2 weeks I would have enjoyed it so much better.
Did you read any good books last month? If so please leave a comment and let me know. I am looking for recommendations in order to read 3 books a month this year. The only thing I am really not interested in is romance so any other ideas would be great.
