Our Christmas Weekend and 2012 Goal Planning
We have had a wonderful Christmas break so far! My girls had their first official day off school last Thursday and my husband started his vacation on Friday.
Friday evening we just hung out together and decided to open the “family gift”. Yes I know it was early but it was so much fun. For our family gift this year we got an Xbox 360 with Kinect. I am not sure who was more excited, my husband or the girls. So that evening we learned how to use the new games system and had some laughs while everyone tried out some of the new games.
On Christmas Eve we went to my Mom’s house. We ate. The kids played. And of course we exchanged presents.
We got all the grandkids to briefly pose for a photo because we told them they could open their presents as soon as they were done. They got to get all their gifts from grandma & grandpa, as well as from their aunts. It was so much fun!
After we got home that night my girls each got to open one gift. We all headed to bed and my girls got up at 4am ready to open the rest of their gifts. So hubby and I got up long enough for them to open them, then back to bed we went.
On Christmas day we went to my Grandparents for dinner. There was lots of family there and I didn’t get hardly any pictures. Afterward we came home, took a little nap then headed off to the movie theater.
We saw We Bought a Zoo which was an excellent movie. Everyone of us loved it. It was funny, real, happy, sad, interesting, a great family movie and I could probably keep going. I highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful Christmas!
The last couple of days we have just had a lot of family time hanging out at home. Sleeping in, cooking, playing video games, watching movies and it has been so great. I am really enjoying every moment with everyone on Christmas break together.
Today I spent some time setting up some basic plans/goals. I know I should be using google docs or something but I just have this thing with keeping everything in a notebook. So I got out a fresh new notebook.
I began planning out our bills for the next few weeks (I’m not done, that is just as far as I got). Then I made a list of all birthdays, other holidays and Christmas gifts I will need to purchase for 2012. Then whenever I find a good deal for a gift I can mark it off the list.
Finally I began making a basic outline for SiMoneySavers.
I know this past month I have totally slacked on everything around here. Life has just been so busy.
However the only thing that has kept me afloat is the fact that a couple months ago I started working ahead a little. So my plan for 2012 is to work ahead a lot. I think if I can really get organized and work ahead then I can be much more efficient even if I am just a one woman show.
Since this post is getting super long. I will be back tomorrow with more detail on my plans for SiMoneySavers. Also tomorrow I will begin posting deals again. Tonight we are all hanging out playing video games.
