Some of you may recall a few weeks ago I posted about a new endeavor that Lakeland Baptist Church was undertaking.

For those of you who didn’t read that post, they have started up a ministry where they are helping out homeless students of Carbondale High School.

Lakeland Baptist Church in Carbondale, just started up a new ministry to Carbondale High School that functions a lot like the Gum Drops ministry in Carterville.  There are over 100 homeless students at CHS. (By homeless, we mean the kids who do not know where they will be sleeping that night–their car, a friend or relative’s house, a juvenile detention center, etc.)

They will be filling back packs & taking them to the students each Friday.

What I didn’t have the opportunity to mention last time was that my new friend Joanna, from The Good Enough Mama is the one who turned me onto this new place where we can donate.

You see Joanna goes to Lakeland Baptist and she is using her coupon know how to collect items to donate.  She sent me this photo of her family along with some donations she collected along with help from friends and family.
