New Books, New Photos, the Beatles and a New Age

This past week has flown by. Probably because we have been so busy and were gone most of the weekend.
I joined a study group at Church where we will be reading and discussing Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I am only one chapter into this and can already tell it is going to be a wonderful journey.
I also received four more books this week to read, oh my! My husband and I are participating in a Leadership class at Church. We completed the first half of it a couple weeks ago and now we are moving on to the second half.
The reading material is:
- Bible
- Lead Like Jesus
- The Volunteer Revolution
- Equipping People for Ministry
- Leading with Integrity
Now if you know me personally you would know that reading is a struggle for me. I have never particularly enjoyed it, not even as a kid. If it’s anything longer than a few paragraphs I am not really interested. However, in joining these classes I am really trying to broaden my horizons. I would like to grow to love reading and believe it or not I made it through the first half of our leadership class and I read all four books. That excites me!

I also took some more photos this week. My sweet nephew turned 6 months so it was time for some cute pictures. Love his sweet squishy face.

Seriously who can resist that cuteness!! He actually wasn’t super cooperative however I managed to get about 1/2 dozen great shots. We already ordered prints from my favorite place and they were delivered Monday. They turned out so good.

On Saturday my daughter was a back up singer at a Beatles tribute called A Day in the Life. The show was at the Marion Civic Center and it was so much fun.

They performed something like 37 songs and I was a little amazed that I recognized almost all of them. You can barely see the backup singers on the right hand side of the picture but my daughter is on the front row far right.

This photo is more of a close up. Emeri is the teeny one.
We had a great time at the show and Emeri enjoyed every second of it from the rehearsals to the actual performance.
Finally, on Tuesday I got a new age. Yes I did, I turned 37, which is almost hard to believe. I had planned to have my hubby take a picture of me and the girls and of course I forgot. I can always remember to photograph everyone else but I rarely think to get in the picture myself.
I spent the day with my Mom and Sisters. We went to lunch and I shopped with some of my birthday money. Then that evening I hung out at home with my husband and the girls. We ordered pizza and watched the new Transformers.
It was a wonderful day of family and fun.
So how was your week? Did you do anything fun you would like to share? Leave a comment.
