Homemade Chocolate Syrup

Through our journey of creating healthier eating habits I have learned alot and I am sure still have a lot to learn.  Trying to determine what items I want to always be organic and what items I can live with the natural version that only has a few ingredients has been interesting to say the least.

Some things are super expensive when it comes to buying the organic version and that is where homemade comes in handy. I have not been able to bring myself to pay top dollar for a bottle of organic chocolate syrup because I know in our house it will disappear so fast.   And I definitely do not want to buy the your basic chocolate syrup that is full of hfcs.  So when I saw that Heavenly Homemakers had a healthy chocolate syrup I had to try it.

The recipe is super simple and chances are you have all the ingredients on hand.

The only changes I made is that I used Turbinado instead of Succanat.  I would imagine it would work just fine with regular white sugar, or white organic sugar also.

Since I really just followed her recipe I am going to send you over to her site so that you can check it out.

Next time I make it I think I will make a double batch.  This stuff is not going to last very long.  :)
