Saving Simply: Avoiding Late Fees

Over the last three years I have been on this ever evolving journey and it is amazing when I look back and see how many things I have done to waste money.
Late fees have been my enemy more times than I can count. Early on in our marriage I seemed to be always juggling and paying the bills at the last possible moment which always resulted in late fees.
This has actually been a struggle for me to quit waiting until the last second…but when you start to see $5 here and $10 there, multiplied by all your bills it really adds up. All of that money I was wasting in late fees is much better used on something more important.
If you are like I was and find yourself always putting off the bills to the last minute possible only to be charged a fee, I highly recommend reworking your bill paying strategy. It took me awhile to switch a few things around in my budget which allowed me to pay the bills in the time frame before a late fee would be assessed.
So do I ever fall back into my old late fee paying ways? I must confess I just paid a $10 late fee on Tuesday. However it was a small loan that I paid off in full that day so I will cut myself some slack.
