Saving Simply: Pack Your Lunch
Whether you work out of the home or you have kiddos who need to be fed at school, packing your lunch is definitely a great option.
I know for my husband it was much more economical to pack his lunch daily when her worked in the office rather than eat out daily. I could easily pack him leftovers, sandwiches or even send some microwaveable meals when I got them on sale. When you figure that he could easily spend $5 a day just running through a drive through and I could easily do his packed lunch for less than $2 that is a savings of at least $15 a week. For an entire year that is over $700 in savings and I am not even considering if he decided to go to a sit down restaurant with co-workers.
Now the savings for the kids isn’t as huge. They can get the hot plate at school for $1.50. However the incentive on the kids is the fact that I can decide the quality of food they are going to eat. Which is a very important factor for me.
Do you pack your lunch for work/school? What is your favorite brown bag lunch?
