Saving Simply: Conserving Printer Ink

I print a lot of coupons….how about you?
Thankfully I lucked out in buying a printer that’s ink is not expensive and it seems to last a pretty long while.
I have an HP Deskjet F4440 and it does take the above ink however I almost never buy both and I very rarely buy color.
Coupons do not have to printed in color! I print all my coupons in black and have never had a problem.
In order to print all your coupons in black/grayscale you need to change your printers default setting to do so.
Here are the steps I take to change my printer settings. (keep in mind I am running Windows 7 so the steps you need to take may be a little different)
Click start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Devices and printers, then I double click the picture of my printer, then customize my printer, then under general I click preferences, then I mark print in grayscale and black ink only and click apply.
This may seem like a lot but it only takes a minute or two and it is done.
