Saving Simply: Turn off the Lights

As a child I am not really sure how many times I was told to “turn off the lights” but my parents were smart as probably yours were too.
Something as simple as just turning things off when not in use is a great way to shave small amounts of money off your electric bill. I will admit when I was younger and first got married I still rebelled against this turning things off to save energy. You could pull up at my house with no one home and probably every light on.
Eventually there came a time when I had to admit my Mom was right!
Making sure to turn off lights, computers, televisions, dvd players, stereos, printers, fans, etc. when they are not in use will slightly reduce your electric bill. It won’t be huge but all these little simple things added up over time will make a big impact on your families finances.
