Hamburger and Onion Pizza Casserole

One of the recipes on last weeks menu was Heavenly Homemakers Pizza Casserole and let me just say that this was delicious!
I made a few changes due to our preferences and what we had on hand. My version was a Hamburger and Onion Pizza Casserole.
This is such an easy recipe and perfect for anyone to adapt it to their own pizza preferences.
You can see Laura’s original recipe here.
1 pound Laura’s Lean ground beef
3 Tablespoons dry minced onions
2 cups Newman’s Own Tomato and Basil Spaghetti Sauce
1 cup water
2 Cups dry mix and match pasta*
8 ounces mozzarella
garlic
Brown hamburger meat and onion in a large pot. Once the meat is fully cooked, pour your pizza sauce and water into the pot. Bring this to a boil, then stir in the pasta. Add in garlic to your taste. Boil until pasta is tender. Pour into a 9X13 pan and top with cheese. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
*What is mix and match pasta you ask? Well I had a few different boxes of pasta that were partially full so I have poured all of these into a large plastic container that I am trying to use up before I buy my first organic pasta. It was mostly Penne and Rotini, some was white and some was whole wheat.
This was really yummy! I served it with a large salad and everyone enjoyed it.
