Christmas Shopping All Year Round
As soon as the after Christmas sales begin, my shopping for the new year starts. I only have 2 children and they are really past the toy stage however I have 15 nieces and nephew. Now we do not spend a lot of money per child, but we do get each child something for Christmas and birthdays.
Right now I have 99% of my nieces and nephews Christmas and Birthday shopping done for 2010 and it has cost me under $100. Now the containers above are not the gifts for my family, these are the extra gifts I have found. Toys that cost me very little – $3 and under. Toys that I will keep on hand in case we get invited to any unexpected birthday parties.
I will continue collecting toys, like the $2 Monopoly games and the $3 Connect 4 games I got at Target the other day. When the beginning of December comes around I will take all of the excess toys to our local Ministerial Alliance who works with Toys for Tots and distributes to children in our area in need.
We also have a Christmas Club account and we put in $25 a payday. We are not extravagant in our Christmas shopping, our girls get some nice things however we shop around for the best deals possible. Emeri also has a birthday 9 days before Christmas so we take her birthday money out of the Christmas club money too.
Beside the nieces and nephews and our girls we also buy for my Mom and Stepdad as well as my Grandparents. I know what they like and am able to shop for them throughout the year too when I find a great deal.

There is no reason to go into debt or pay full price for Christmas!

There are some awesome deals at Target this week on games. I am hoping to go on Saturday afternoon. If they don’t have any left, I will get a raincheck. Those games will be great for under your Christmas tree!
