I was contacted by Alicia, who is my cousins wife, about collecting flips flops for Haiti.  She and her daughter Cheylin were really wanting to find a way to help the people in Haiti.  In doing some research she discovered that tons of men, women and children are walking around barefoot daily through all the rubble left behind after the devastating earthquake.

She found a company called Soles 4 Souls who is committed to sending 1.2 million pairs of flip flops to Haiti.  This company also collects shoes for over 125 other Countries.

She will be collecting flip flops from now until March 19th at which time they will be delivered to Soles 4 Souls and then sent to Haiti.

Would you like to help?

They are looking for flip flops in any size, men, women or children.  Walmart and Target already have them in the stores.

For my local readers: If you are interested in helping to provide 1, 10 or even more pairs of flips flops you can contact me and we will figure out a place to meet up so I can pick up the shoes.

For my non-local readers:  We would love to have you participate also!  You can send flip flops to me by mail.  I will be glad to give you my address if you contact me through email, twitter, facebook or here on my blog.
