Tackle it Tuesday: Revamping a Bamboo Candle Holder
-->When I was shopping my house a few weeks ago I came across this old Bamboo Candle Holder that I loved and couldn’t bare to get rid of. We have had it for many years and it sat at the center of my coffee table with a very large candle on it. One day my hubby was home alone burning the candle and either left it and went in another room or took a nap and wax had poured all over it.
He made me take it off the table and I put it up in my closet thinking I may fix it or do something with it someday.

That day finally came along. I had in mind what I wanted to do but wasn’t sure what kind of material I would use. We do not have a craft store, the closest one is not really so close. As for Walmart, our main store in town, their craft section is very slim.
I ended up finding the roll of Catfish cord at Walmart for like $2. It was a little lighter than I wanted so I brought it home and tea stained it.

After I got my desired color I tried to wring out as much liquid as possible then stuck it in the drier. I didn’t want to wait a long time for air drying. However going in the dryer tangled it up so I then had to unwind the entire thing.

I got out my hot glue gun and began in the center gluing the cord in a circle. Round and round until I got past the wax damaged areas.

Then I flipped it over and glued a hanger on the back. After that was dry all I had left to do was place it on the wall.

Of course it went in my livingroom. At the very front of the room, beside the front door.
I love how it turned out. The bamboo matches the 5 Drawer dresser and a bench with drawers in it.

Once I get the living room done I will post full lenght photos.
Have you seen what else I have done in my living room lately?
