Tackle It Tuesday: More Living Room Decor
-->I am on a journey to get my living room decorated so I can move on to another room. Over the summer we sealed and painted over some hideous wallpaper, then pulled up the carpet and finished the original wood floors. After that was completed I pretty much stopped. I am now dying to have it completed. I want to fill it up and make it feel like a home instead of an uncompleted room.
Last week I made the Picture Collage Wall Hanging that is mounted above the computer desk in the back of the room. As well as 2 coordinating frames that are hanging on the opposite wall.
This week I have moved down the wall with the 2 hanging frames to the corner. Just before you head into the kitchen stands a 5 drawer dresser that is wooden with bamboo accents. It is a huge catch all!!
Sorry I didn’t get a before pic.
I started with a gold frame I found in the top of my closet and spray painted it black. Then I found a great sunrise picture on the internet that had some vibrant colors including gorgeous blues. I printed off on regular printer paper to fit the frame.

I have to say I was amazed at how good this picture turned out. I showed it to hubby when he got home and he was shocked that it wasn’t a real photo.
I hung it on the corner wall just above the dresser. I then cleared off and dusted the dresser and added the 2 blue glass bottles and 3 black wire candle holders.
The glass bottles were purchased this fall at Fort Massac, they were originally filled with home made root beer.
The candle holders were in my bedroom unused and were a pale blue/green color. A little black spray paint and they were ready to head to the living room.

One day last week I shopped around my house. I checked out the garage, basement and upstairs rooms for unused item that I could possibly repurpose for the living room or other decorating. I plan to try and do as much as I can without spending very much money.
So far my two living room projects only cost me a can of spray paint. Hopefully after Christmas I can get to some more ideas I have.

Were you happy with the results you got when you sealed and painted over the wall paper. I am thinking about doing this in one of my rooms and wasn’t sure it would work.

Laura, Tracey, Susie and Christi Thanks so much!
Vivian, We are very pleased with the results but I will warn you it was hard work. It took my husband and I 20+ hours of work to complete it. We did 2 coats of Oil Based Primer followed by 3 coats of the green paint.
I think I am going to be doing the same thing in our kitchen next Spring.
