Tech Thrifty Thursday: Create Your Own FREE Online Christmas Radio Station
Tech Thrifty Thursday (TTT): Today’s post is a guest post by my husband. His regular tech blog can be found at garyfarnam.org:
Many of us love Christmas Music this time of year. So why not create your own free radio station that features Christmas Music?
It’s easy and free with Pandora. Pandora is an online music site that allows you to create your own custom radio station whether it is a Christmas themed station, or just a “Hey it’s Friday and I wanna rock” station. You’re in control.
How Do I Get My Own Free Online Christmas Station?
Simply go to Pandora.com and sign up for a FREE account. Once you create your account, log in. Then click on Create a New Station. Then type in the name of one Christmas song you’d like to have (I chose Silent Night by Bing Crosby below):

- Silent Night On Pandora
Once you make a selection, Pandora will find the song (if it’s available, mine was) and then find other music that may also fit your taste based off of that selection. The next song Pandora played for me was Let It Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow by Dean Martin. After that, Nat King Cole began with Oh Come All Ye Faithful.
You can give each song that plays a thumbs up or thumbs down, so that Pandora can essentially “learn” what you like.

You might also consider getting a set of inexpensive computer speakers with a little better sound quality than your normal “included” speakers. I have a set that I got for Father’s Day 2008: Philips MMS171W
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
