I hadn’t planned on doing any shopping this week since I nearly reached my budget the first time out this payday. However I didn’t write up a menu plan because I had been ill over the weekend and our week was kind of busy. I did manage to stick to our menu plan categories pretty well except for Tuesday. I had been gone most of the day and we were out of mixed greens and my husband requested some kind of simple sandwich so Emeri and I headed to Walmart.
I picked up a loaf of lo-carb bread, some sliced turkey with no nitrates, sliced Sargento cheese, 1/2 gallon of Almond Milk, bananas, clementines and a couple of other things.
We didn’t get a picture when we got home, everyone just wanted to make a sandwich, have a piece of fruit and call it a night.
My total spent at Walmart was $21.46
Adding that to last weeks total gives me a grand total of $189 for the payday ($11 under budget)

I had really hoped to post this earlier today however I have been gone non-stop. When I finally did get home my husband and I “splurged” on a Subway sandwich and watched Courageous.
I stayed on track this week with my eating. I did not plan a menu however I still managed to cook every night.
I am really thinking I need to start getting on the treadmill a few times a week, I know that it would help to move the weightloss along. That being said, the weight is still going down.
This week I lost: 1.1lb
Since 11/26/11 I have lost a total of: 16.1 lbs
If you would like to see what kind of diet we are following you can read about it here.

“Every Thursday I will be sharing my favorite 3 articles I read that week.”
1) 5 More Tips for Feeding Your Family Whole Foods on a Budget – this was a guest post on Money Saving Mom. The writer was Tammy from Skinny Mom’s Kitchen. I am new to her website but am enjoying browsing around her great recipes.
2) Selfishness, Bitterness, and Me Time – When You Rise. I just came across this website this week and thought this post would hit home with many people. I myself can think of many times since I became a Mom that I let “me” get in the way of the kind of parent and wife I was being. I am still a work in progress and will admit that sometimes that selfishness starts to creep back in however I seem to notice it much quicker these days. I am thankful that God is always there to steer me back in the right direction.
3) The dreaded question,Mom,what’s for dinner? – The Successful Woman’s Guide. If you struggle, like I do, with the never ending task of feeding your family this post has some great resources to help.
Have you read any good articles this week? Or did you post a great article you think I would enjoy reading? Leave a comment with a link so I can check it out.
